The 11th Say No to Bullying Middle School Cup was a highlight during Term 3 at Ormiston College showing the ability of sport to unite. This much-anticipated annual event saw over 300 Middle School students participate in a knock-out football competition, to promote the strong message of Saying No to Bullying at Ormiston College and highlighting the importance of a safe and supportive environment for all students. Participation, cooperation, respect of one another, good sportsmanship, and most importantly getting along and having fun are the main aims of this tournament.
The competition kicked off with a vibrant opening ceremony, where students proudly represented countries from around the globe in a display of colour and creativity. This year, the team representing France claimed the Best Dressed Award.
Over the course of the term, all matches were played in good spirit culminating in the highly anticipated Grand Final on Friday 6 September. The Middle School students gathered eagerly to watch China (Year 9) play against Uruguay (Year 8). In a close encounter, China secured a 5-3 victory, with some outstanding football and a great fightback from Uruguay, keeping the crowd entertained throughout.
The success of this year’s event once again underscored the importance of creating opportunities for students to connect and grow together in a positive and inclusive environment. Congratulations to all participants for coming together and making this year’s Say No to Bullying Middle School Cup a wonderful experience for all.
