Ormiston College will bid farewell to its long-serving Headmaster, Brett Webster, whose resignation will take effect at the end of December after 19 years of dedicated service.

Mr Webster first joined Ormiston College in 2006; under his consultative and enthusiastic stewardship, the College has emerged as one of Queensland’s highest performing academic schools. His strategic focus on tech-enabled learning has seen Ormiston College rise to become recognised as a school at the forefront of innovation, preparing students for life in the 21st century.

Mr Webster has been a key contributor to the development of a world-class campus and, together with the support of the Ormiston College Board of Directors, has overseen significant campus developments throughout the years.

“My own journey with Ormiston College has been an absolute privilege and, as I leave, I am filled with gratitude,” remarked Mr Webster. Reflecting on his tenure, he went on to say, “I have given Ormiston College the best years of my professional life, and in return Ormiston has given me so much more in the form of a community, friends and memories that have exceeded all my expectations.”

A heartfelt farewell event, attended by special guests, students, staff and families of the school community, was held at the College in November. The event celebrated Mr Webster’s remarkable tenure, highlighting the numerous accolades achieved under his leadership: Ormiston College has gained global acclaim as a Microsoft Showcase School; national recognition at the annual Australian Education Award across multiple categories including Australia’s Top School for Best Use of Technology 2018, 2021 and 2022; and The Educator 5-Star Innovative Schools award for ten consecutive years.
