A group of keen Senior Geography students were sponsored by the Geospatial Council of Australia to attend the Queensland Geospatial Conference at the Brisbane Convention Centre during Term 3.
This conference was a fantastic networking opportunity where our students connected with industry leaders, geospatial professionals, and undergraduates. They gained valuable insights into how geospatial technologies are revolutionising various industries and career pathways and the exciting innovations happening within the industry.
Our students explored the integral role of surveying and geospatial technologies in the planning and construction of the new Kangaroo Point bridge, tracking and mitigating disease spread, planning for urban spaces, analysis of land transformations, and discovered how the industry is setting new standards and new pathways, particularly with opportunities for neurodivergent students in learning, internships, and employment.
We are incredibly proud of our students for making the most of this unique experience and look forward to seeing how they will apply their newfound knowledge in their future endeavours.
Thank you to the Geospatial Council of Australia for supporting our attendance and fostering such a rewarding opportunity!
