Ormiston College is delighted to announce that Acting Deputy Head of Junior Years, Jemma Trendler, has been recognised for her outstanding commitment to educational leadership by winning the Emerging Educational Leadership Award for 2024 from the Australian Council for Educational Leaders Queensland Branch (ACELQ).

Each year the ACELQ honours educational leaders who, in the view of their colleagues, have made a significant contribution to the understanding and practices of the teaching profession and educational leadership. This award recognises Jemma as an influential school leader creating expertise across the school community to support every student to succeed.

Jemma is a highly respected emerging leader at Ormiston College. Her impact is wide and varied; from inspiring healthy bodies and healthy minds to her ability to provide impactful and supportive professional development to Numeracy teachers.

She incorporates high impact teaching strategies to enhance her own practice and create positive student learning outcomes. Providing data informed interventions for her students, Jemma collaborates with colleagues to create, plan, and assess student outcomes, reviewing plans and tiered assessments regularly to enhance academic rigour. Overall, Jemma's contributions to the teaching and learning at Ormiston College have been significant.
