Ormiston College participated in the Bayside Readers Cup competitions during Terms 2 and 3. These exciting literary competitions brought together schools from across the region with an equal passion for books. Students were challenged to work collaboratively in a team and demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of a selection of books by answering a number of quiz questions.
Ormiston College entered four teams across three categories: Years 5/6, Years 7/8 and Years 9/10. The dedicated students worked hard in preparation for the competition, reading five novels and crafting their own practice questions to test their teammates.
A special highlight for the students was having Australian authors as quiz masters, who shared fascinating insights about their craft and the publishing industry, making the experience even more memorable.
Congratulations to the Years 7/8 Maroon team for securing an impressive second place at the regional competition. Their ability to work collaboratively and under pressure was remarkable. We are incredibly proud of all our Redback Readers for representing the college with pride and determination.
